On September 15th, with some members of both Local 2233 and the Gies family in attendance, this message was displayed at Fenway Park congratulating retired Captain Jim Gies on his 40 years of service to the town of Wilton.

Captain Jim Gies Retires After 40 Years

Wilton Firefighters Local 2233 wants to congratulate Captain Jim Gies on his retirement last month from the Wilton Fire Department after 40 years of faithful service to the town as a Firefighter/EMT, Lieutenant, and Captain. He was an active and valued member of the local for the entirety of his career. In recognition of his service, we have raised his turnout coat to hang in a position of honor beside those of Captains Stuart Carter and Karl Dolnier, all of whom served Wilton for more than 40 years. We wish him well in his future endeavors.
